The Useless Box toy enables children to use a mobile app and create scenarios, customizing every aspect of the box - the way the lid opens, the way the lights light up, and the way the animal inside reacts to the opening of the box. Then, these children can toggle the button on the box and watch their creations come to life.
Tools: Created using the Particle Photon and Arduino Uno in C; using servos to drive the arm and lid, motors for rotary action, a solid state relay for sound, and two batteries for power. Accompanying Android app written in Java.
